organization through its various field
units spread all over Garhwal has
involved the local women in the
preservation and storage of local fruits
and agriculture produce. These centers
have been engaged in the task of
producing jam, jellies, juices, pickles
and other eatables which have a ready
market. Technology provided for mushroom
cultivation has caught the fancy of the
farmers in the hills.

Mushroom Cultivation
Mountain are favorable for Mushroom
cultivation. Mushroom is a tasty and
nutritious food. Dhingri (Plerotus sejar
kaju) grown on straw & other unutilized
biomass. The Pleurouts spp. has a wide
span of temperature from 15 to 30oC and
can be grown easily.
